May 30, 2008 (Sawf News) - Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif did not raise any of the buried pharaohs back to life as she cavorted in front of the pyramids in a short skirt, during the filming of a song sequence for Singh is Kinng, but she sure raised hackles in conservative Muslim Egypt.
Katrina's show of legs alarmed the bystanders and prompted the local police to come scampering on to the set, to find out just what was going on.
Director Anees Bazmee told the police that they were shooting for a film and apparently convinced them that the worst was over and Katrina was not about to drop her skirt!
Usually to convince the Egyptian police about anything you need to do exactly what you do with the Indian police - grease their palms.
Katrina had earlier got into trouble in India in 2006 when she entered the shrine of Ajmer sharif in a short skirt during the filming of Namesty London. However, we don't think she can be faulted if her directors always tend to focus on her talent below the belt.
The song sequence being filmed in Egypt will feature at the start of the film, when Akshay and Katrina first meet.
Filming, which started in November in Australia, will be complete after the shoot in Egypt. Half of the film was shot in Australia and the rest in Punjab, Mumbai and Egypt.
