June 19, 2008 (Sawf News) - Following the disappointing response to their new reality show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? (KAPPSTH) its producers and STAR TV have decided to take it off air from end July.

But that doesn't end Shah Rukh Khan's association with STAR and the reality game show genre, because he has swiftly gone to work on another show with the same team, determined to come back with vengeance.

A source tells us, "King Khan and his deal with Synergy Adlabs for STAR Channel is far from over yet. He committed to do a certain number of episodes for them when Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 was planned, and was paid a handsome amount in advance for the episodes. But then KBC 3 could not sustain viewer interest, despite SRK giving it his best, and the show had to be discontinued mid-way.

"The same jodi was back with Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain hoping to win viewers' hearts, but again their efforts were in vain! The show got a tepid initial response, and ultimately met with a premature death, despite attempts to revive it through celebrity guest appearances. The shooting of the show has now come to an end.

"SRK has taken responsibility for the failure and is desperate to make it up with a kick ass comeback; he is getting involved creatively too. He plans to adapt a new foreign show for Desi audiences, hoping to get third time lucky.

"Shah Rukh presently has two films on floor, Priyadarshan directed Billo Barber and Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Shooting for both films are in full swing and the reigning superstar hopes to be free to start filming the new reality game show around November. Till then he is ensuring all the pre-production work is done," our source concludes.

We tried to confirm this news with the Synergy Adlabs, but they declined to comment. We asked whether they had plans for a second season of KAPPSTH after a gap of few months but that too drew no response.

However, a close friend of the King Khan told us, "Some may blame the IPL matches for KAPPSTH's failure or lack of interest amongst viewers for the topic involved in the show but you cannot over look the fact that Shah Rukh gave it his all. He was very disappointed with its low ratings. But he considers television an important medium in todays times and hopes to make a dashing comeback. Who knows he may cover up the two failures with a great third innings!"
