August 25, 2008 (Sawf News) - Farooque Sheikh, who was seen last in Madhuri Dixit-Akshaye Khanna starrer Mohabbat, is making a comeback on the silver screen after eleven years with Shona Urvashi's Saas, Bahu Aur Sensex.

Distributed by Warner Bros., the film is slated for a September 12 release.
What was the reason for such a long sabbatical from his acting career?
"I wouldn't call it a sabbatical. I was busy doing television shows and also theatre. In recent times I had hosted Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai on Zee TV. Once it was over I decided to take up this film.

"But I am not keen on too many projects at a time. That's partly because I am lazy and partly because I love working on my own schedules. I love to do one thing at a time. I hate the concept of a 9 - 5 job. I prefer lazing around and spending time with friends. I like to read a lot and travel around. That's the way I like to live my life." replies Sheikh.
What got him interested about Saas, Bahu Aur Sensex which is a film about a group of housewives who indulge in kitty parties and later start pouring in that extra money in the Stock Market?

"The makers of Chashme Buddoor approached me with this project and Shona is a lady director whose enthusiasm is contagious and I didn't feel like refusing them."
Speaking about his role in the film Shaikh reveals
"I play the role of a stock broker who is very competent and eccentric. Basically he is an irritating character who is very uncomfortable with women. There are several tracks of families in the film and is a comedy which can be watched with a family."

You are coming back with a comedy which was earlier your forte.
"I have been doing all kinds of roles earlier. I have done serious roles like the ones in Gaman, Mahananda and Maya Memsaab. I also did a serious serial like Srikant. However, people connect with me more in comedies is what I have realized."
How is he looking forward to a new innings in Bollywood?
"I am still reading a lot of scripts and if I come across something interesting then I might give in my nod. I am not averse to doing films. It is just that I cannot handle serials. I am afraid of working at the waking hours in the studio. I shy away from such schedules." Sheikh wraps up.
