Photo Credit: Sawf News / Viral BhayaniSeptember 13, 2008 (Sawf News) - After announcing the Anees Bazmee directed musical extravaganza with Salman Khan, T Series' Bhushan Kumar has announced his next production, a Radhika Rao-Vinay Sapru-directed untitled film with Sunny Deol, Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan in lead roles.
This is the first time the three stars will come together on screen. Earlier, in June Kangana had told Sawf News about the film, when the male stars had as yet not been firmed up.
Back in July it was reported that Sanjay Dutt walked out of this film and gave the dates committed to T Series to Mani Ratnam's Aishwarya Rai - Abhishek Bachchan starrer Ravana.
Director Vinay Sapru told Sawf News exclusively that the romantic flick is set in the 1970s and the stars will be seen in the makeover of that time. The film story is written by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao.
The film will begin production in Jan 2009, on a two month start to end schedule. Entire filming will be done in New York and Chicago. The film is to be released in July 2009.
The producers are still working on a suitable title for the romantic flick.
Vinay said being a T Series film, music will be the special focus. Preetam will compose the music for the film. Shama Chatterji is the cinematographer.
Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao had earlier directed Lucky: No Time for Love (2005) with Salman Khan and Sneha Ullal.
Says T Series' head honcho Bhushan Kumar, "we have been flooded with calls asking us if the film is called Happy New Year. And now, we get news reports that confirm the same on their own without even making a call to us. Let me put all queries to rest at one time. No, our film is not called Happy New Year."
So what will it be called then? "When we decide, you will be the first to know," he smiles.
Kangana, 21, will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion due in theaters October 17. She is currently in the US filming for Filmkraft's productions Anurag Basu directed Kites, opposite Hrithik Roshan.
Sunny Deol, 46, will be next seen in Heroes directed by Sameer Karnik with co-stars Amrita Arora, Bobby Deol, Dino Morea, Mithun Chakraborty, Preity Zinta, Riya Sen, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth. The film is due in theaters on October 24.
Sunny is currently filming for his home production The Man, which is co-directed by him with Neeraj Pathak. He is paired with Shilpa Shetty once again after Apne.
Madhavan, 38, is currently filming for 3 Idiots directed by Rajkumar Hirani with co-stars Aamir Khan, Boman Irani, Kareena Kapoor, Rahul Kumar and Sharman Joshi.
