It's not that we thought he had signed up on the micro blogging site to promote his upcoming film My Name Is Khan. Bollywood stars go online to share their hearts with their fans, not to pimp promote themselves or their films.
Within the first 15 hours of his first tweet, @iamsrk had over 10,000 followers, but that was only because he signed up on a weekend.
We expect SRK to hit the million mark soon enough, and don't doubt that he will eventually have the largest following amidst Bollywood stars, which may well be a good reason for other Khans to stay away from Twitter now.
Significantly, Shah Rukh tweeted:
injury has kept me away from making more films. will work my back off to be around more...the shoulder feels strong and so do i.
