July 24, 2010, (Sawf News) - Salman Khan has picked Kangana Ranaut as his co-star in his debut home production - a remake of pal Mahesh Manjrekar's marathi film Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho.
According to Mid Day, the role required someone glamorous, who could emote well, and Kangana fitted the bill.
The Khan brothers - Arbaaz and Salman - have been cheered by the positive buzz evoked by the theatrical trailer of Dabangg which was released this weekend with Akshay Kumar starring Khatta Meetha.
Incidentally, Manjarekar features in Dabangg, as he did in Salman Khan starring 2007 laugh riot Partner.
Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho, a story of a son and father, is a satire on the Indian education system. The son's interests lie in cricket instead of studies and the father looks down upon sports. He thinks education is the only way to rise in this world. The son hates his father with a passion but in the end its the same son who comes to father's rescue from a conman.
Salman is currently filming for Anees Bazmi's Ready with co-star Asin.
Dabangg is due in theaters on September 10.
