Benny Rosset, the designer and manufacturer of Cia.Marítima presented over 40 looks in the Beachway Tent, at the historic Raleigh Hotel in Miami on Sunday, July 19.
The Spring 2010 collection from Cia.Marítima is inspired by different looks of the Mediterranean Sea. The collection offers classic silhouettes reminiscent of those of designer Madeleine Vioneet, daring inspirations akin to those of Versace and beauty similar to the historical figures of Greco-Roman Goddesses.
The 2010 collection uses colorful prints, draping and trim. Beautiful sea shades from blue to green inspire the color palate which features turquoise, emerald and royal blue while incorporating neutral shades such as coral, brown, white and black.
Black draping pieces rule the luxury segment of the collection, which is presented with embellishments and metal appliqués. Gorgeous fabrics such as lycra, jersey and the new "nectarina", which has a velveteen touch, offer the light fluidness necessary to the collection.
The range of beautiful cover-ups including dresses, tunics, shorts and shirts easily move from the beach to the streets and provide women with fashionable alternatives for the evening.
Fashion show veteran Lynne O'Neill (Sex and City) produced the show and the makeup was by MAC. Celebrity hair stylist Omar Lopez did the hair and Nail designs were created by Myrdith Leon McCormack, celebrity manicurist, Ford Artist and creator of M2M Nail Care.
Cia.Marítima was launched by Benny Rosset in Brazil in 1990. Benny created a unique marriage with the São Paulo textile giant The Rosset Group and Cia.Marítima. It is designed as a high-end boutique collection with very select distribution.
Benny is personally involved with the smallest details of the collection. He has closed his famous runway shows in the company of Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Frankie Rayder, Shirley Mallmann, Ana Hickmann, and Karolína Kurková.
StyleWest is the sole, authorized distributor of the Cia.Marítima collection in the United States.
