A poll by the radio station website suggests Jessica’s foray into country music is being well received. Over 61% of 93,718 listeners thought the song was good.
Jessica’s last pop album, Public Affair (2006), slid off the charts very quickly after making it to the Top 20.
Jessica’s father, Joe Simpson, is confident about her move to country music.
”She's a singer from top to bottom," Joe Simpson told People. "And everything in the music business, especially pop music, has moved away from singers. And I think country is the only pure, storytelling kind of genre left.”
Joe has no apprehensions about his daughter not being welcomed by country fans, since she is simply moving back to her Texas roots.
”She's from Texas. How could she not [be accepted]?” he asks.
