July 10, 2008 (Sawf News) - Michael Jackson held secret talks with members of reformed boys band 'New Kids On The Block' at his Nevada home last week to discuss the possibility of joining them on stage on their comeback tour that kicks off at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on September 18, 2008.
The band, which consisted of brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood, sold over 70 million albums worldwide during the late eighties and early nineties, and inspired other bands like Backstreet Boys, Take That and *NSYNC.
On April 3, 2008, Donnie Wahlberg told CNN that the band had reunited, and were recording an album of new material, and was planning to tour. The album is slated for release this fall.
The reunited band has already performed live several times, the last being on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, ON., Canada.
Michael Jackson too has been working on a comeback.
"I have been recording Thriller: 25th Anniversary, with a lot of surprise guests," he told fans earlier this year.
In April, Micahel,49, was reported to have hired music producers RedOne and Akon to mastermind his new album.
"He has been in the studio for months. He wants to create an amazing album and won't release anything until he is totally satisfied," a source told the Mirror:
"He's a musical genius and record bosses want to leave him to develop his magic. It will be down to him when it is released."
