The 28-year-old has become a huge star in the US with his new single Down, which recently knocked Britney Spears' 3 off the top of the US charts.
It is claimed the singer impressed Leighton, who plays Blair Waldorf in the show, so much that she wants him for her new video.
A source said to British edition of People: "Jay is doing really well in the States. Down has been No 1 there for two weeks already so he has caught Leighton's eye."
