February 03, 2010, (Sawf News) - Here is the first clip of the new version of 'We Are the World' recorded on Monday, February 1, in LA in aide of the earthquake relief effort in Haiti.
Nearly 80 celebrities gathered for recording the track that includes vocals by Barbra Streisand, Kanye West, Toni Braxton, The Jonas Brothers, Celine Dion, Akon and Wyclef Jean, amidst others.
Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote the song in 1985 for the USA for Africa appeal. The track was co-produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World.
Janet Jackson has sung Michael's lines in the new version.
Michael Jackson's three children - Prince, Paris and Blanket - are reported to have recited a poem as introduction to the track.
