Deeply missed by one and all at the premiere was Heath Ledger who plays the mass murdering Joker in the film. He was working on this film when he died on January 22 due to an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. The black carpet at the premiere was lined with Joker posters. Heath Ledger's family attended the premiere but did not pose for photos.
