July 17, 2008 (Sawf News) - Lindsay Lohan may have to wait a while to find out for sure if Ashley Kaufmann is her half sister, as Ashley so passionately claims to be, because the DNA testing company will not do the paternity test on her father, Michael Lohan, without a court order.
"I got a letter saying I need something from the court before they'll process anything," E! Online quotes Lohan as saying. "And I didn't get that before. So, now I have to go back to my attorney."
Lohan continues to be skeptical about Kristi Kaufmann's claims that he is Ashley's father, believing that the man Kristi moved in immediately after her affair with him was more likely the father.
"But I'll do whatever it takes to find out," he says. "Everyone will know the truth soon."
Kristi, 44, a massage therapist who's currently living in Florence, Mont., went on TV Monday, July 14, along with her daughter, Ashley, 13, claiming that Michael Lohan was Ashley's father.
She claimed to have met Michael at dinner with a mutual friend in 1982. The two reconnected in New York in 1994, when Michael was separated from then wife Dina. They had a 3-4 week long affair after which Michael disappeared.
"When he came back, I told him I was pregnant," she says. "I knew that he wasn't happy about it so I gave him the door ..."
Kristi is sure that Michael is Ashley's father and claims Ashley's eyes bear a striking resemblance to those of Lindsay.
