The Hannah Montanna star recently bought two matching $1,417 red enamel bands decorated with lucky horseshoes, for herself and her HSM BFF.
"Miley saw this Hidalgo ring and said to her mom, 'OMG, I need to get one of these for Ashley,'" a Miley friend tells OK!. "She asked to order two - one for her and Ashley because they both collect things with horseshoes on them."
"They're really close, and this is their little way to say 'hi.' With their crazy schedules, it's how they stay connected," the source adds.
Ashley recently returned from a tour of Europe to promote her upcoming film High School Musical 3 which is slated for release on TV and in theatres on October 24. She missed Miley's Disneyland birthday bash on October 5.
