Last week, Jon Gosselin stopped the filming of TLC reality series Jon & Kate Plus Eight, the Gosselin family's only source of income, and allegedly cleaned out $230,000 from his joint bank account with Kate.
Deprived of all income and savings and unable to pay family bills, Kate filed legal documents in a Montgomery County Court in Pennsylvania last week, around the same time that she petitioned the court for the return of the bank money withdrawn by Jon.
Mark Momjian, one of Kate's divorce attorneys, says:
"She needs relief in light of the draining of substantial marital assets in violation of the arbitrator's decision that the money should be used only for specific purposes."
The estranged couple is scheduled meet with a court-appointed arbitrator on Tuesday in an effort to resolve their financial disputes.
