November 27, 2009, (Sawf News) - Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident early morning on Friday, November 26, in which he sustained minor injuries. He was treated in a hospital and has since been discharged.
Wood crashed into a fire hydrant less than 100 feet from his driveway in Windermere, Florida, and then into a tree, at 2:20 AM.
He was alone in the 2009 Cadillac SUV at the time of the accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, no alcohol was involved and the airbags did not deploy indicating that SUV was traveling at less than 33 mph.
Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor told the AP that Wood's wife, Elin Nordegren, heard the crash and helped him out of the car, using a golf club to smash the back window.
Woods, 33, was taken to Health Central Hospital with facial lacerations. He had cuts on his lips and blood in his mouth. He was out of the hospital by 2 pm.
He is next scheduled to play on December 3 in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
