November 29, 2009, (Splash News) - Adam Lambert gave a toned-down performance on a US chat show – accompanied by the male band member he controversially kissed during the American Music Awards.
The American Idol runner-up, who has come under fire for his raunchy moves, gave a more family-friendly performance on David Letterman's show.
The man he kissed – who played the keyboard on stage with him on Sunday – was this time accompanying the rock singer on guitar.
More than 1,000 people complained to US television network ABC following Lambert's sexed-up show at the AMAs.
The 27-year-old French kissed his band member and seemed to simulate oral sex with a dancer.
He even strutted around with male dancers on a leash and pulled a scantily clad female dancer across the stage by her leg during the S&M-themed performance.
Around 1,500 people complained to ABC, who were broadcasting the event live on the east coast of the United States.
When it aired on the west coast, sections of Lambert's song were edited out.
The network then pulled Lambert's performance from the west coast broadcast of the show and canceled his scheduled appearance on Good Morning America.
Lambert has defended his antics, claiming he is a performer 'not a babysitter'.
