November 29, 2009, (Sawf News) - Tiger Woods declined to meet Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officers for the third time after they arrived at his house for a scheduled interview at 3 PM on Sunday, November 29.
In an e-mail exchange with People, FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes wrote:
"The troopers went to the house to see if they could speak with Mr. Woods. Mr. Woods's attorney was present and told investigators that Mr. Woods was unavailable for an interview."
"Mr. Woods's attorney provided the troopers with Mr. Woods's driver's license information, registration and current proof of insurance as required by Florida Law. The crash investigation is ongoing and charges are pending."
The 33-year-old world renowned golfer's reluctance to talk to the police is fueling rumors that his car accident on Friday morning followed an altercation with his Swedish model wife, Elin Nordegren, 29, after she confronted him with reports of his infidelity with party hostess Rachel Uchitel, 34.
There is speculation that Woods is avoiding the cops because he doesn't want them to see the nature of the injuries on his face, which would help them determine if they were caused by his wife's reported attack on him, or by the accident in which his Cadillac Escalade first hit a fire hydrant and then a tree. A source earlier told TMZ, that cops found no blood on the driving wheel or dashboard (The airbags did not deploy.), indicating the injuries were not accident related.
In a post on his website on Sunday, Woods took responsibility for the accident on Friday morning. He also praised Swedish model wife, Elin Nordegren, and pleaded for privacy.
