Allen in a photograph that surfaced was staring wanly and showing the ring on her nail-polished hand. Her face lately under a new longer hairstyle has appeared pixie-like. In many public comments she has indicated she is moving on in her life.
She recently was reported buying a country estate in the UK and seeking to be near her father and taste the simple life. She said she quit music but launched a label in her own name to discover struggling talent. She also announced she wanted to pay more attention to her acting career.
"I just had this revelation that Facebook, blogging, all those things were becoming a total addiction," she said. "I'd be with my boyfriend or my mum and they'd have just got half of me. So I put my BlackBerry, my laptop, my iPod in a box and that's the end."
Cooper is a builder who runs his own consulting business. The photo surfaced on a night the couple went to dinner with his family.
Allen told Grazia magazine: "It's not about being famous, it's not about all the parties, it's not about wanting to be the biggest pop star on the planet. It's about being happy. For me, that is Sam, spending time at home, sorting out bed linen – being normal."
