August 13, 2008 (Sawf News) - Nikon COOLPIX S610c and COOLPIX S610, announced on August 7, are built on Nikon's EXPEED digital image-processing concept and incorporates precision optics of a NIKKOR lens.
Now capturing moments would no longer mean missing out on the fun at hand. The new Nikon Coolpix S610 starts from zero to ready-to-shoot in 0.7 seconds, making photography much more fun.
The COOLPIX S610c also features built-in Wi-Fi support with the world’s first implementation of the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) standard. The users can access free access to Wayport hotspots around the nation to email photos or to upload them to My Picturetown, the online photo storage service.

Practically defying their ultra-compact dimensions, the COOLPIX S610c and S610 each feature a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with a wide-viewing angle of 170 degrees and anti-reflection coating. And they combine that with 10 megapixels of sharp resolution, a 4x Zoom-NIKKOR lens capable of 28mm wide-angle shooting (35mm format equivalent), and optical VR image stabilization to deliver outstanding image quality.
ISO 3200 support adds the power to shoot sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower lighting conditions and to capture fast-moving subjects with outstanding clarity. When shooting with high ISO settings, the new image-processing system dramatically improves the ability for clearer results and minimal noise.
Automated shooting modes such as Active Child Mode, Scene Auto Selector, Smile Mode and Food Mode enhance the carefree shooting experience.
Other features include macro shooting from as close as 3 cm (1.2 in.) and approx. 45 MB of internal memory and external SD card for extra storage.
S610C will be available in Silver and Black. S610 will have more colors to choose from – Silver, brown, black and deep red. Pricing and availability has not been yet announced by Nokia.
