The story was expected to create some ripples and then disappear in the relatively placid ocean of information on the net. That did not happen. Our website traffic rapidly climbed up as search engines began to unload hordes of overheated Indian males on to our site. The build up of traffic since then has slowed our server and occasionally brought it to its knees. An article on Sneha Ulal, which had been our most popular article since many months before, soon ceded the top spot to the article on Mallika. That, however, was just the start. Currently the article on Mallika Sherawat is ahead of the one on Sneha Ulal by a factor to 30!
There is a new phenomenon on the Internet - Mallika Sherawat! Malika Sherawat has not only generated heat on our server she has topped MSN Search ratings for several weeks in a row now, sidelining other top search sensations such as Maria Sharapova.
Surprisingly, while Maria Sharapova top ranking on MSN search was widely reported in the world and Indian press the passionate interest in Mallika Sherawat seems to have been ignored even by the Indian press.
Good reporting is just that - reporting, leaving readers to draw their conclusions. So why is the Indian press ignoring the world wide interest in our own home grown Mallika?
Mallika Sherawat is no Maria Sharapova, you might say. The latter is a world renowned tennis phenomenon while the former is a struggling bollywood star, whose allure is certainly not her histrionic ability.
I agree. But the point I am making is that despite the disparity in their talents the world finds both of them equally hot! So while it may appear that we are comparing apples and oranges it is only so because libido charged searches on the internet are seeking the nectar within.
What is it about Mallika Sherawat that has the Indian male so charged up? She drives them nuts! If you think about it she gives a whole new meaning to the phrase - Drives them nuts!
I think Mallika Sherawat bucks the stereotype that Baywatch looks and shapes can only be found on the distant beaches of California, to be viewed on television shows only, or surreptitiously over the Internet late in the night. She is our very own Pamela Anderson perhaps even more because the Indian males find it exciting that décolletage in India now reveals equally alluring silicon shapes.
From the male perspective, more exciting than the fact that there is a Malika Sherawat is her readiness to flaunt the curves that go so well with her smoldering looks. The fact that she hails from Rohtak, the heartland of Jatland, actually adds to the allure rather than diminishing it!
Coming back to Maria Sharapova I think she is intensely popular for the same reason that Malika is. She bucks the stereotype that Russian female athletes are all muscles and she does so with aplomb.
We are not comparing oranges and apples here. We are talking about melons!
