superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan is reported to be earning lakhs of rupees through insurance. His sister Shweta
is married to Nikhil Nanda, son of Ritu and Rajan Nanda of Delhi. Ritu is the elder daughter of showman Raj Kapoor and has
the biggest insurance business in India through which she earns crores of rupees. Her daughter-in-law Shweta and her brother
Abhishek are reported to mop up the overflow. Abhishek is also socially very visible these days and doing some important
films. Bollywood pundits predict a fabulous 2006 for this actor.
Mumbai: Oct 14, 2005/Sawf News Service/ -- One would think film stars make enough money doing big budget films. Especially
if the surname of the star is Bachchan, one would think there should be no dearth of money. But think again. Money is never
enough or so it would seem. A recent television news report in India said that Ritu Nanda, daughter of the late Raj Kapoor
and wife of Rajan Nanda of the Escorts family, is the single largest insurance agent in India and earns in crores of rupees.
The report said that her website, which has a huge reach, attracts a large number of people who buy insurance from her. The
overflow goes to Ritu’s daughter, daughter-in-law Shweta Nanda (nee Bachchan) and even to the brother of the daughter-in-law
– Abhishek Bachchan. The report said that both Shweta and Abhishek earned lakhs of rupees through insurance in the last year.
What’s more, many people and corporates were delighted to be the clients of a superstar family!
Abhishek Bachchan is also very visible in the social scene in India at this time of the year. He will be the chief guest
and speaker at a fashion and art show organized by New York-based designer Gazala and Mumbai-based art expert Namrata to
raise money for the HIV/AIDS cause in India. Famous stars and models will walk the ramp – including film star Sushmita Sen –
and India’s top artists will donate their paintings for an auction. Gazala has lived for 26 years in the US and now wants to
make a debut in India with her collection called ‘Ode to the sari – with a twist’. The show’s proceeds will go to the NGO
Committed Communities Development Trust for the benefit of HIV/AIDS affected children.
What’s more, Abhishek is determined to do all that his dad did years ago. People with long memories will remember that the
Big B had one of his first opportunities in films when the late Mehmood gave him a role in Bombay to Goa. The senior Bachchan
has never forgotten his debt to the late comedian. Abhishek is now poised to dance to a remix version of Mehmood’s hit song
Subse Bada Rupiaya from the long forgotten film Bluffmaster in a new film to be made by Rohan Sippy. The voice of Mehmood
will be included in the remix. AB junior’s leading lady is Priyanka Chopra for the first time in this movie.
