24 April 2007 (Sawf News) - Days after the Abhi-Ash wedding is over, people are still wondering what yardsticks the Bachchans used in inviting their friends and colleagues from the film industry.

Interesting enmities, envies and hidden rivalries, reported in the Mirror, are enumerated below.

  • Amitabh made it clear that he does not like SRK.
  • The Bachchans preferred women – they invited Dimple, Twinkle and Rinke but not Rajesh Khanna or Akshay Kumar. So the Kumar couple holidayed abroad instead of Twinkle going solo.
  • Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra, the Kapoor sisters, Vidya Balan, Sushmita Sen, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu were not invited for incredible reasons like past rivalries or relationships or a new top star status (as in John Abraham’s case).
  • Hema and Dharmendra were miffed that daughters Esha and Ahna were not invited. Reacting to this snub, both did not attend the wedding.
  • Farhan Akhtar, Ravi Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sanjay Gadhvi – some of Bollywood’s most successful directors – were not invited for personal dislikes and because they were in the ‘wrong camp’.
  • Hrithik Roshan had angered the Bachchans with the lip lock with Ash in Dhoom 2 and thus lost his chance to attend the wedding.

Abhishek also minded the fact that Hrithik replaced him in Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra’s new film Dilli 6, which AB Corp wanted to co-produce. The deal fell through and Abhishek walked out of the film, making room for Hrithik.

Hrithik also walked out of an international performance tour because it was called the Bachchan Show. Probably, Ash wanted to invite Hrithik, but she had to exchange a favor with the Bachchans who had left out Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi for her sake. She had to omit Hrithik from the list to keep them happy.

Now if all this is confusing to the Janata, that’s ok. The only take we can walk away with is, Bollywood is not One Big Happy Family as it is often portrayed!

If Bachchan family is smart , they should give a reception in a fivestar hotel, so that they can invite the whole industry to bless the couple . This way he will get blessing from every one Last but not the least , do not forget to invite the media .Hope they read my advice , since I am the first fan of Amitabh from 1972!

Amithabh Bachchan' private wedding is nothing but normal as Mostl Hollywood weddings are done with tight security, this is most personal event in life. They were nice enough to respect paprazi with courtsy food etc.

At the same time it would have been nice for them to provide copy of the Wedding Photo or Clip to Media for the overall satisfacton of fans also those who were not invited should understand and respect their need for privacy and let it go.

Bachchan Family should organise a big Bollywood reception for all of industry and media this will be an event of the century in a A La Grand AB style. Everyone should be invited like SRK and his camp, no one will be left out from Bolly wood including the spot boys and make up man light boy door keeprs of the studio I mean let have party.
