19 September 2007 (Sawf News) - Mumbai Police, probing the nexus between the underworld, Bollywood and Indian cricket, may question leading Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, reports NDTV
The move follows the interrogation of Dawood Ibrahim's henchman Iqbal Attrawala who was deported from Dubai to Mumbai on September, 5.
Attarwal had mentioned Hrithik's name during a phone conversation between him and NDTV a day before he was deported.
The Mumbai police suspects Attarwala may have brokered deals between Dawood Ibrahim and prominent Bollywood personalities.
Cricket matches are periodically held at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Ziyad Cricket Stadium, ostensibly to raise money for charities. It has been long suspected that these matches are rigged by the underworld which makes huge amounts of money from the betting that takes place.
Attarwala is known to have organized several cricket matches in the emirates under his banner Show Blitz, including the friendly encounter between Suniel XI and Wasim XI played in Abu Dhabi on April 6, 2007.
During his interrogation Attarwala named several Bollywood personalities who played such matches and were involved in the match fixing.
