13 January 2008 (Sawf News) - PETA celebrated its 8th year in India by throwing a party at the ITC Grand Maratha, Mumbai, January 11, 2008 attended by John Abraham, Raveena Tandon, Yana Gupta and others.

John Abraham, who is a brand ambassador for PETA and appears in their campaigns, helped PETA raise Rs 6 lakh as donations at the event by personally requesting celebs to step forward to donate.

Speaking on the occasion John said, "Even if you want to slaughter animals, let them be in humane conditions till they die."

"If all this 'save animals' talk seems too preachy, then the sight of dying animals, abandoned carcasses, helplessly locked, pulled, dragged and beaten to death might just make you want to reach out and help," added Raveena Tandon.
