March 31, 2008 (Sawf News) - After giving a very creditable performance in the 2007 thriller Shootout at Lokhandwala Vivek Oberoi said in a TV interview that he would take a break and catch up with life, and he did just that. But he is now back, and with six packs to boot.
The actor has recently bagged Karan Johar's untitled home production to be directed by Rensil D'Silva (screenwriter of 'Rang De Basanti'), where he will be starring in the lead along with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
The film, to be shot in London beginning October 2008, is a sensitive love story with a thrilling twist. Both Saif and Kareena play terrorists who fall in love under a very difficult situation.
Meanwhile, Popcorn Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Limited's Mission Istanbul directed by Apoorva Lakhia and starring Vivek along with Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan and Shriya Saran, is set for release in June.
Vivek is reported to have undergone a physical training regimen and a special diet to build six abs for his tough guy role in the film.
Earlier, the actor has won critical acclaim for his performances in films like Company, Saathiya, Kisna, Dum, Masti, Yuva, Kaal, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, Omkara and Shootout at Lokhandwala.
"Vivek is at an interesting and challenging stage of his career where he is being offered very meaty roles. It’s going to be exciting for us to subtly brand him, giving a new perspective to his stardom," says Vivek's recently hired publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
