November 12, 2008, (Sawf News) - Yash Raj Films have trashed recent press reports that their film, Anurag Singh's Next, starring Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji has been put on hold, saying it is 60% complete and on track for a 2009 release as planned.
There have been news reports that the film has been tentatively named Haddipa.
There has also been leaks attributed to unnamed sources that YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra is not satisfied with Anurag Singh's helming of the project which has led to Rani Mukerji ghost directing the films.
While Yash Raj Films did not directly refute the ghost directing speculation a statement released by the company referred to it obliquely.
"Anurag Singh's directorial debut starring Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the lead which is under production since July 2008, has been plagued with incorrect news reports from the outset. Yash Raj Films would like to clarify that the name of the film has not yet been finalized and is slated as per plan for release in 2009. All reports about the involvement of actors other than as mentioned [as lead stars] above are baseless and untrue. Infact we have successfully completed a long schedule in Punjab and the film is 60 percent complete.
The production of the film is as per schedule and the next schedule is in January as per plan."
Sawf News asked Yash Raj Films if they were completely satisfied with director Anurag Singh and their response was a categorical YES!
So we have another tabloid concoction biting the dust!
