March 25, 2009, (Sawf News) - Picture Bobby Deol and the first thing comes to your mind is a gentleman; he is not only a good actor but also a thorough professional.
Bobby had a long and grueling schedule in Rohtang Pass for his forthcoming film, Sangeeth Sivan's EK - The Power of One, produced by K Sera Sera.
The actor was shooting for major action sequences in 'erratic temperatures with heavy rains and blizzards,' according to a source from the film's unit. The vanity vans had to be parked around 2kms away from the location and there were long gaps between the shots to accommodate the weather.
Apparently Jaswant Khera, the Executive Producer of 'EK', even requested Bobby to go rest in the van as he was worried about his health, to which our Punjab Da Puttar insisted that if the entire unit could bear the weather so could he!! He further logically pointed out that going up and down to the van would unnecessarily waste the unit time as they had already lost so many days due to bad weather.
"These fight scenes had to be shot in muddy fields and freezing temperatures and the unit had already lost 3 to 4 days of shoot due to the climatic conditions. I was absolutely overwhelmed with his dedication and professionalism and the action sequences undoubtedly turned out as winners in the film." says Jaswant Khera.
This is what Bobby had to say:
"We were shooting at the Rohtang Pass and yes, it was freezing. But it's easy for me to acclimatise myself to the cold.
"I've been up there before, during my first film, Barsaat. The best thing about being an actor is that your job takes you places you would otherwise never visit."
Bobby plays a negative role a hired killer in the film, similar to the one he played in Bichchoo nine years ago. As to why he accepted this role Bobby said there are actors who are not apprehensive of playing romantic heroes in most of their films so why should he hesitate to repeat such roles. Given a chance he would do it again.
Bobby says USP of the film is the action. The film is a remake of Telugu film Athadu and Bobby was sold at the action sequences of the film. The remake has retained the basic essence of the Southern film.
Bobby contradicts media reports of him jumping from the 14th floor in the film. He says he actually jumps only from the 7th floor but it was scary, he said laughing.
Bobby has the no-nonsense look in the film with hair straightened and looking a fit Deol all the way!
