March 27, 2009, (Sawf News) - Shweta Bharadwaj, enthralled the audiences at the Lakme Fashion Week 2009, Mumbai on March 27 by walking the ramp with Sonu Sood in a beautiful ethnic wear designed by Abdul Halder.
The Mission Istanbul star has always been the show stopper for Abdul Halder shows. Shweta who has the ability to look different in every frame, beautifully carried the ethnic look and drew a thunderous applause from the packed house.
She wore a heavily embellished pink mermaid lehenga and a form hugging choli with plunging neckline and spaghetti straps.
She accessorized with a forehead jewel, tikka; wore heavy eye makeup and bright pink lip color. Her long dark hair was left open framing her face.
Sonu Sood looked cool in white embellished Jodhpuri coat and Aligarh pajama.
Talking about the designer Abdul Halder, Shweta said, "Abdul is not only my personal designer but also my good friend. He knows exactly which look suits me well, so I just let him decide my wardrobe".
Actors Tabu and Nagarjuna graced the front row at the show as guests of honor.
Shweta debuted with the Lara Croft look in Mission Istanbul and has a couple of movies in the pipeline as well. Shweta is donning a completely glamorous look in Loot, her upcoming movie. She has also bagged a French film because of her ability to look different in every picture.
Abdul Halder started his carrier designing for the king of pop 'Michael Jackson' in 2002. Soon he moved on to work with an Italian fashion house SB Italia, experiencing shows across Europe and Middle East. Since 2006 he has been showcasing his collections at various fashion weeks in India and Internationally. He is the only designer to showcase his collection at the United Nations head quarter General Assembly, New York earlier this year.
