March 31, 2009, (Sawf News) - Slumdog Millionaire comes out on DVD today and Anil Kapoor phoned in to Ryan Seacrest's Morning Show on KIIS FM on Tuesday, March 31, to promote it.
The eight Oscar win of Danny Boyle's film has put the spotlight on Anil Kapoor , a veteran of nearly 100 Bollywood films, and opened the door for his cross over to world cinema.
Asked about reports that he will be guest starring in the Fox TV series 24, Anil Kapoor said, "It is still under negotiations. Within a week ten days I will know where I stand."
Known to be unassuming, the 49-year-old actor joked with Seacrest that his Slumdog Millionaire co-stars, including the kids, are now bigger celebrities than him.
"I am the only available accessible star from Slumdog Millionaire," he joked.
Kapoor is being honored with a retrospective at the Indian Film Festival Los Angeles from April 21-26. The salute will include screenings of his films Lamhe and Virasat as well as the world premiere of the English-language version of Gandhi, My Father, which he produced and talks about in his interview below.
