April 07, 2009, (Sawf News) - Known to take pot shots at each other to humor the tabloid press, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan exuded bonhomie in support of Bollywood producers at JW Marriott on Tuesday, April 7.
Bollywood producers have gone on strike from April 4 refusing to release their films unless multiplex owners agree to a 50:50 revenue sharing arrangement.
Asked to explain their coming together, Shah Rukh played down their past public feuding as a “non-issue.”
“I don't think we have a problem in getting together in a car, plane or even in films,” he said.
“We are both intelligent and me little less than Aamir, and we have to respect that. This issue (film strike) is much larger issue. We are not childish,” he added resorting to his customary self deprecating humor.

Hinting that their coming together was a flag meeting, not a permanent truce; Shah Rukh couldn’t resist a potshot at Aamir for the late hour of the meeting.
“He generally likes to hold meetings at midnight,” he said. “So we have been meeting him at that hour to discuss the ongoing multiplex v/s producers problem over lots of coffee.”
Aamir pretended to write something as Shah Rukh spoke but remained tuned, as evident from the smile he could not hold back.
"We have assembled here to tell audiences why they cannot see any films from Friday. We all want to be profitable in the business and until that does not happen we won't be in healthy position," Aamir said.
During their individual speeches, both the Khans stressed that the meeting wasn’t a show of muscle power exercise by the Producers Association...
Both of them put their views on how a 50:50 profit sharing is the right thing for both the warring parties.
