“These rumors are in bad taste and completely baseless. I cannot believe such utter rubbish is being written,” says the incredulous actor through her publicist.
The Mumbai tabloid earlier reported that Zinta has broken up with beau Ness Wadia but the two, who co-own Kings XI Punjab having paid $76 million for the franchise, continue to maintain their business partnership.
Preity, 34, had laughed off that story terming it “all rumors” and adding, “The press seems to know my feelings better than me.”
The tabloid, known for its wild reporting in the past, including the fictitious Kareena Kapoor – Saif Ali Khan wedding, now claims that Chatwal’s 2006 marriage with model Priya Sachdev is on the rocks, with Sachdev staying separately with her parents in New Delhi. Chatwal meanwhile is enjoying his single status.
The tabloid concludes that Preity is romantically linked to Chatwal because she cheered wildly for him when he walked the ramp at the Mai Mumbai show at the Lakme Fashion Week.
Ridiculing the fresh spate of rumors, Preity's friends point out that the actress has a formidable reputation for outspokenness and is known to say it the way she sees it. She has always been honest about her personal life and values her dignity.
“How can they link her up with anyone she’s seen with? Its rubbish!” says a friend.
