April 16, 2009, (Sawf News) - Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor launched the DVD and VCD for the Danny Boyle helmed film that won eight Oscars this year, at Cinemax, Versova, Mumbai on April 15.
The charming 49-year-old actor, a veteran of nearly 100 Bollywood films, has been in the spotlight thanks to the Slumdog tsunami that spread across the world sweeping away multiple honors at successive award shows and setting box-office cash registers ringing. Made at a cost of $15 million, the film has grossed over $327 worldwide.
Anil paired his dark blue slim jeans with black buttoned down shirt, brown plaid vest and nude sports shoes.
Slumdog Millionaire was Kapoor's first foray into international cinema, for which he won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Kapoor has likely received more media coverage for Slumdog Millionaire than he has for all his Bollywood films combined. He hopped city to city and across continents to attend film festivals and film award functions.
Despite the accolades the unassuming actor remains easily accessible and firmly grounded.
Anil Kapoor will feature in the eighth season of the award-winning action series 24. He will play a Middle-Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.
