May 12, 2009, (Sawf News) - Shahid Kapoor says he and his ‘Kaminey’ co-star Priyanka Chopra are good friends for now, and does not rule out the possibility that they will take their ‘relationship further.’
Quizzed on the persistent and strengthening buzz that an on set spark has blossomed into a full blown relationship with Priyanka, Shahid responds:
“I’m linked to all my co-stars. With Kismat Konnection it was Vidya Balan, now with Kaminey it is Priyanka,’’ he said.
“Priyanka and I are good friends. However, people have been jumping the gun. If we take our relationship further, I may talk about it; but people are in a rush to link us together. I will not lie or hide a relationship but I will not stand on the rooftop and announce it either,’’ he added with a smile.
While he keeps a tight lid on his personal life, Shahid readily talks about the films that he has on hand - Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey with co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Arshad Warsi and Amole Gupta; Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo with co-stars Arshad Warsi and Genelia D'Souza; Anurag Singh’s Hadippa with co-stars Rani Mukerji, Sherlyn Chopra and Rakhi Sawant; and Milind Uke’s Paathshala in which he does a cameo with co-stars Nana Patekar, Suniel Shetty and Ayesha Takia.
His excitement about Kaminey is not entirely on account of Priyanka.
“Vishal Bharadwaj says my role is going to definitely surprise the audience,” he points out. “It is a hugely challenging role, very different from Jab We Met, and though JWM is the reason why Vishal signed me for Kaminey —both roles are poles apart.’’
"When I’m finished with these projects, I will start work on Parmeet Sethi’s next for Yash Chopra again with Anoushka Sharma," he says.
