Photo Credit: Sawf NewsMay 27, 2009, (Sawf News) - One of Bollywood’s most revered star, Amitabh Bachchan has an enduring and sometimes crippling failing – He cannot to say ‘no.’ Fortunately, he is not a woman!
Amitabh Bachchan is affectionately referred to as the Big B by the Indian media, an appropriate name considering that he is a talent powerhouse with a big heart and a small sense of entitlement.
Bachchan, 66, has already completed four films in 2009 which include Teen Patti, Johnny Mastana, Aladin and Rann.
He is currently filming for PAA, which is in its final days of shooting and will complete by end of June.
A prolific blogger who writes from his heart, with an urgency to communicate not impress, Bachchan recently completed one year of blogging, defying our prediction that he wouldn’t last over a year.
Talking about PAA, he recently wrote on his blog:
"A day of rest and recuperation, forced on to me by a considerate and concerned production. The reason being that the make up ladies that have been specially transported from far away lands, have warned that prosthetics on the face for more than three days at a stretch is harmful. The weight of the silicone and the absorbing power of the elements used, damage the skin. My eyes look as though they were involved in a bar room brawl !! So.. the need to rest them."
In July the Big B starts with his new projects, the list of which is surprisingly long - Ravi Chopra's PocketMaar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Chenab Gandhi, Feroz Nadiadwala productions' untitled to be directed by Prakash Jha.
Other projects on the horizon include a Hollywood project, Jewel of India, Daddu Tum with Samar Khan, Adrenalin with Muzzaffar Ali, Diamond Bob with PVR, The Actor with Pritish Nandy.
There is more: He has 23 scripts lying for consideration, 2 TV shows in the pipeline, a Hanuman Chalisa rendition along with Aadesh Srivastava, the Bhagwad Gita of his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, in the language of the Ramayana to be sung and recorded, an audio blog with BigAdda, The Unforgettable Tour to other nations in the East and South of the hemisphere and in India.
Besides professional projects, there are other commitments. Bachchan is all set to be honored for completing 40 eventful years in Bollywood.
Amitabh writes in his blog
"A prominent corporate wishes to celebrate my 40 years in the Industry and unfolds an elaborate plan. It is embarrassing for me to even think the way they do. It is like a self promotion. Of talking about yourself with a great amount of ‘I’ ‘me’ ‘myselfs’ thrown in. I am uncomfortable doing that, or even permitting someone to perceive what it all could be. The initial working of such a program has been approved upon. In the end due to the pressure of relationships, I shall perforce have to succumb. And that is the crux. How does one say ‘no’ to enthusiasm."
