June 11, 2009, (Sawf News) - IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan had a busy day at Macau, China on Thursday, June 11, the opening day of the event at the Venetian Macau casino resort hotel.
Looking dapper in a grey pin stripe suit, blue check dress, blue print silk tie and just a hint of his signature French beard and mustache.
Amitabh Bachchan released the book 'Bollywood in Posters' by S.M.M. Ausaja, a film historian. He wrote the forward for the book which features posters of all Hindi film classics spanning eight decades.

The 66-year-old star also planted a lotus plant, the official flower of both India and Macau, and launched the green badge.
"Indian cinema has become almost a parallel culture of the country. I cannot say whether this is good for India or not, but it is certainly an important element for our country," Amitabh said during his inaugural speech.

Later on Thursday at a red carpet ceremony Bachchan will be honored and his new Madam Tussauds wax statue unveiled. The event will be attended by his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai along with Anil Kapoor, Govinda and A.R. Rahman among others.
Mumbai airport has seen a mass exodus of Bollywood celebrities headed for IIFA since June 10.
The three day event is being hosted by Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani. Those performing live at the event include Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Govinda and Ritesh Deshmukh.
There will be an IIFA Fashion event on June 12, where stars like Hrithik Roshan with wife Suzanne, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh will walk the ramp for Indian designers. The annual awards will be announced on June 13. This year a new award category has been introduced - outstanding contribution by Indians in international cinema. This year's award recipients will be Aishwarya Rai and Oscar winner composer A.R. Rahman.
Other attractions include performances by the world-famous Cirque de Soleil and British singer Peter Andre.
