Photo Credit: Splash NewsNovember 20, 2008, (Sawf News) - Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosia, Miranda Kerr and Marisa Miller were amidst the model who wowed at the 2008 Victoria's Secret Annual Fashion Show themed - Return to Glamour - on Saturday, November 15.
Grammy award winner singer Usher kicked off the 2008 show, which featured 35 supermodels including winged angels, at the newly refurbished Fontaineblue Miami Beach hotel in Miami.
"The theme of the show is a return to glamour," said company CEO Sharen Turney. "Victoria's Secret is about sexy and the new sexy is glamorous for this season."
The runway was covered in sand and small pieces of mirrored plastic.
Models, seven of them winged angels, showed 68 outfits, including the $5 million Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra worn by Lima and designed by jeweler Martin Katz. Decorated with white and black diamonds and rubies, the bra will be for sale in the company's catalog.
"You could wear it as an open top," Katz said. "It looks like a finished top."
"I always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra. It's the first time that Victoria's Secret makes a black diamond bra," Lima said. "A woman could definitely buy it if they love it and men too."
Some of the bras had Swarovski crystals attached. Karolina Kurkova wore a bra and underwear with a leather belt and a diaphanous hand-dyed, pleated, draped gown.
Klum strutted an evening gown of hand printed silk, tulle and duchess satin, decorated with red roses.
Miranda Kerr walked the runway wearing butterfly wings and strutted a red bikini accented with colorful discs and strings.
Most of the models walking the catwalk were moderately covered.
Some of the other exotic looks included a knitted catsuit in crystal yarn, with a hard leather lacquer belt, a recycled plastic bag jacket and skirt worn over a hand knitted bra and boy briefs, a quilted corset with ostrich feathers and crystal accents.
For the finale, Klum strode the catwalk in a red bra, underwear and sparkling red wings, which were made to resemble a bow on a present.
The wings for all the seven models were designed by Martin Izquierdo. Wings worn by Miranda Kerr had multicolored butterflies.
New mommy Alessandra Ambrosia wore golden wings inspired by Greek Mythology. Klum's sparkling red wings resembled a bow on a present.
"It's the most watched fashion show in the world," said Ed Razek, chief marketing officer and the executive producer of the show. "You've got an obligation to do a better show every year."
The show will air on the CBS Television Network on Dec. 3, 2008.
