February 16, 2009, (Sawf News) - Max Azria presented the Herve Leger collection on day three of the New York Fashion Week on Sunday, February 15 at the Bryant Park in the Promenade.
Describing the new collection of signature bandage dresses, Azria said in his press notes, "Using iconic bandages and patch-working textures of velvet, boucle and snakeskin, we create the modern carapace for the female form."
"Exotic prints, metallic beading and woven techniques intensify the collection's primal sensuality," he added.
Shoulder pads were seen yet again in this collection as seems to be the trend for fall 2009. The colors included browns, greens, black and the neutrals. Mixed textures consisted of boucle wool, velvet moiré, leather, felt and snakeskin.
There were some beaded dresses with two of them worthy of special mention - the black and brown metallic dresses with basket weave beadwork on the bodice.
A body hugging snakeskin mini dress also stood out.
Overall the collection is true to the brand's original spirit - high fashion that makes the wearer feel like a model strutting the runway! These dresses will make any woman feel sexy and special with high octane glamour.
The original Hervé Léger fashion house was founded in 1985 and acquired by BCBG Max Azria Group in 1998. Hollywood fans of the label include Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Charlize Theron, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Eva Mendes, Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria and Jessica Biel.
