Washington, Oct. 14: The big-screen adaptation of the hit 1980s TV drama Dallas seems to be in a crisis mode after almost the entire cast excluding John Travolta and Katie Cassidy have been axed.

The film being directed by Gurinder Chadha, was expected to begin shooting in November, but has been put on hold until a new cast can be put together.

While Travolta is still due to star as oil-baron arch-villain J.R. Ewing, Cassidy has confirmed that she will still be playing her role of Lucy Ewing whenever the film begins production. Cassidy is currently filming the remake of "Revenge of the Nerds" with Kristin Cavallari, reports TMZ

The cast had earlier included Luke Wilson as Bobby Ewing and Shirley MacLaine as Miss Ellie. Jennifer Lopez was attached to play Sue Ellen, but dropped out over earlier over "creative differences". Meg Ryan was also in negotiations to replace Lopez, but those talks have broken off. (ANI)
