LONDON (AFP) - Allen, who owes much of her fame to online social networking website MySpace, has been nominated for Best British Female, Best British Breakthrough Act, Best British Album, for "Alright Still", and Best British Single, for "Smile".

Barkley, meanwhile, dominated the international categories, and was nominated for the Best International Group, Best International Album, for "St. Elsewhere", and Best International Breakthrough Act categories.
Reformed boyband Take That also received one nomination, Best British Single for "Patience", which spent four weeks at the top of the British singles charts late last year.
Former bandmate Robbie Williams was nominated in the Best Live Act category, and challenging him for that award is George Michael, who has also been nominated.
