May 20, 2008 (Sawf News) - Many celebrity guests joined the cast and crew of the film - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - at its premiere on Sunday, May 18, during the 61st Cannes Film Festival.
George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, and John Hurt received a standing ovation inside the cinema on their arrival.

Harrison Ford posed for pictures with partner Calista Flockhart, who was dressed in an asymmetrical blue dress with a belted waist in black.

The celebrity guest list included Goldie Hawn, Paz Vega , Natalie Portman, Rachael Leigh Cook, Dennis Hopper, Linda Evangelista, Christian Slater, Adrien Brody, Tamara Mellon and Salma Hayek.
Hayek flaunted her sumptuous curves in an embroidered green Balenciaga gown and equally sumptuous Chopard diamonds danglers. Her hair looked tidy in a classic braided style.

The adventure film, directed by Steven Spielberg was made at an approximate budget of $125m. The film stars Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Shia LaBeouf, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Ray Winstone.
The fourth film in the series, set in the cold war year of 1957, pits an older and wiser Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) against agents of the Soviet Union, led by Spalko (Cate Blanchett), for a crystal skull. Indy is aided by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), the greaser Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf) and fellow archaeologist Mac (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent play fellow academics.

The film had been in development for nineteen years, since the 1989 release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade but the shooting finally commenced on June 18, 2007, and took place in New Mexico; New Haven, Connecticut; Hawaii; Fresno, California; and soundstages in Los Angeles.
The film is due for a worldwide release on May 22, 2008.
