November 13, 2008, (Sawf News) - DreamWorks has released a new theatrical trailer of Revolutionary Road, directed by Sam Mendes, toplining Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and Kathy Bates, their first film together since Titan (1997).
It is the first time Winslet and her husband Sam Mendes are working together as also the first time DiCaprio is playing a father in one of his films.
The film is a drama based on the 1961 novel of the same name by Richard Yates about post war disillusionment.
Set in 1955, Revolutionary Road is an incisive portrait of an American marriage seen through the eyes of Frank and April Wheeler.
The film's plot focuses on the hopes and aspirations of Frank and April Wheeler, self-assured Connecticut suburbanites who see themselves as very different from their neighbors in the Revolutionary Hill Estates.
April is an aspiring actress who yearns to move to Paris, while Frank copes with toiling away at a corporate job he despises by drinking too heavily and engaging in an affair with a co-worker. The couple's marriage slowly dissolves into an endless cycle of bitter arguments and jealous recriminations.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 26, 2008.
