She will play a beautiful woman of mystery who may be involved in the death of a man who fell victim -- literally -- to a freak accident, reports ET.
Shooting begins on Friday, January 23.
Duff, 21, who rose to fame playing the title role in the Disney Channel TV series Lizzie McGuire, is also set to star in her own series for NBC.
In addition, she will guest star or appear in other NBC series, under a one-year contract signed in November.
