February 03, 2009, (Sawf News) - Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus will perform Swift's song Fifteen at the 51st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February, 8, and understandably the teenagers are excited.
When the girls called into Ryan Seacrest's Morning Show on KIIS FM, the first question that Seacrest had for Taylor was - "How did it come about that you are going to do a duet together?"
"We were trying to figure different things that would be cool and different combinations. I wanted to play one of my songs, 'Fifteen,' …and we all came to the consensus, 'Wouldn't it be cool if Miley was up there too?' " Swift said
About the song itself Taylor said:
"Well, it's a song I wrote about freshman year of high school. It was the last year of my life I thought I knew everything," she explained. "I had my first boyfriend when I was 15. I'm glad I was able to put it into words."
"The lyrics are very inspiring," Cyrus added. "A lot of girls are inspired by us, so this song is us giving our advice. ... This song is pretty perfect for the Grammys."
Miley also discusses how she ended up trading the Porsche her parents gifted her for a Prius.
"The Porsche is really hard to drive," she said. "I thought I could drive that thing. I got in it and was like, 'Hold the phone, this thing is huge!' "
