February 06, 2009, (Sawf News) - Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman will star in The Baster, a comedy based on Jeffrey Eugenides' short story Baster, which was first published in The New Yorker, reports Variety.
The film's story focuses on a neurotic and insecure man (Bateman) who surreptitiously donates his sperm when his best friend (Aniston) decides to have a child through artificial insemination. He is then forced to live with the secret that he is the child's real father.
Aniston will also executive produce the film which will be helmed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, who together directed the 2007 comedy Blades of Glory.
Filming is scheduled to start in spring.
Aniston's He's Just Not that Into You opens in theatres today. Her upcoming films include the romantic comedy Management with Steve Zahn and Woody Harrelson (May), and the romantic drama Traveling with Aaron Eckhart (Fall).
Juno (2007) star Bateman's upcoming films include the political thriller State of Play and the comedy Extract.
