March 12, 2009, (Sawf News) - A spokesperson for producer Polow Da Don has confirmed that Chris Brown recorded a duet with Rihanna earlier this week, just days after Brown was charged for assaulting her.
No other details were provided and reps for Rihanna and Brown refused to comment.
"My heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past," Polow said in a statement. "They are both great artists to work with, and I wish them well."
On Wednesday, Us Magazine reported that Brown, 19, is back in a Santa Monica, Calif., studio with Rihanna, 21, working on an as-yet-untitled duet with producer Polow Da Don.
"The theme is about being stronger and growing stronger in a relationship," a source told Us. "The song was originally created for Rihanna before the fight. However, it wasn't initially slated for Chris to be on the song."
"The funny thing is, the song expresses the emotions that both Chris and Rihanna are feeling at this moment - facing challenges and overcoming the ups and downs of a relationship in which you become stronger."
Brown and Rihanna "were very playful in the studio," the source added.
In early January, MTV reported that the couple recorded a duet titled Bad Girl for the soundtrack of Confessions of a Shopaholic. The track, also produced by Polow, did not make the final cut for the album.
