It has now been confirmed that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have gone ahead and bought a sprawling Chateau at Benerville near Deauville along the Normandy coast in France.
The house, Chateau Gabriel, was bought by the previous owners, renowned fashion mogul Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge in 1978. It was built in 1874, covers 850 square meters, has nine bedrooms, and is located inside a 30 hectares park with different kind of gardens (exotic, japanese, hinds park). There is also a helipad, stables and a datcha. The Chateau is surrounded by woods and views overlooking the sea.
Angelina and Brad have been residing in Paris for some time now. Jolie is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Marcheline, who is being treated for cancer, was born in France. It is reported that Angelina Jolie wants her baby to be born in France as a tribute to her mother.

Angelina currently lives full-time in Buckinghamshire, England, and owns property in Cambodia.
Angelina's work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, has kept her in the news, as has her adoption of two children first from Cambodia and recently from Ethiopia. Brad has dutifully stayed by Jolie's side during her pregnancy and recent travels as a good will ambassador. He has also legally taken on the mantle of being a father to her adopted children.
Angelina and Brad have not allowed their travels on behalf of the UN, or their responsibilities as new parents, to dampen their high profile romance. Their recent purchase of Chateau Gabriel is a case in point as are reports that the two have booked tickets on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Spaceship which is due for lift-off in 2010. The two have been living a life that is picture perfect. The fickleness of high profile romances being what it is only time will tell if the two are living their lives for themselves or just being picture perfect for the world?
