NEW YORK, Aug. 7: L'Oreal Paris has launched a print and broadcast ad campaign this week that features Academy Award winning actress Diane Keaton, 60, as their model! The product - L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Pro-Calcium Restorative Hydrating Cream and Age Perfect Skin Supporting & Hydrating Makeup.
The ads feature Keaton, L'Oreal newest spokesperson, in her signature white pantsuit. Shot in the neutral-toned living room of a Pacific Palisades home they show Keaton speaking directly to the viewer, sharing that she believes in aging authentically, takes calcium every day and uses L'Oreal's new Age Perfect Pro-Calcium Moisturizer to make her skin resilient, more toned and redensified.
It is interesting to note that this is the first spokesperson assignment for Diane Keaton who won her Oscar for the film Annie Hall in 1977! In 2003, the actress made a forceful statement by carrying off a nude scene in the film Something's Gotta Give.
The fact that we may be faced with a paradigm shift on the concept of beauty and glamour was also evident when Sophia Loren was asked to pose for the exclusive Pirelli calendar with the likes of Hilary Swank, 32, Naomi Watts, 37, and Penelope Cruz 32. The calendar, with its sharp focus on sensuality, seemingly made age irrelevant to what may or may not be considered sexy.
Another example of the trend is former supermodel Lauren Hutton, 62, a Revlon spokesperson who launched her own line of cosmetics for 40-plus women in 2003. She followed up the bold foray into cosmetics with her first ever nude photo shoot for an eight page spread in the November 2005 issue of the Big Magazine.
