22 March 2007 (Sawf News) - New Zealand born super model Rachel Hunter is best known for three things: being the former face of Cover Girl, gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine, and being the ex-wife of rocker Rod Stewart. She now adds swimwear designer to the list, with the launch of her new line Lola by Rachel Hunter.
The idea came about when the statuesque blonde noticed the swimwear she often modeled was only offered at a high designer pricetag and in a small size. Hunter felt that this market could be developed further to offer more options to women, who may be interested in more sophisticated swimwear but may not be able to find it in traditional outlets.
Lola by Rachel Hunter blends style and substance in her own unique designs. The line comes in four collections: Savannah - a safari-based line, Chloe - which offers retro styles from the 60’s and 70’s, Pippa - which features casual coastal looks, and Sophia - for the more chic, sophisticated woman.
The collection provides women with a range that includes both sets and separate pieces. Lola by Rachel Hunter is for women over 23 who have their own tastes and go for dramatic designs versus mass-produced garments.
The swimwear line will be available in department stores in July.
