On August 18th at 8 p.m., the 2nd Annual Hot in Hollywood party kicked off at the Henry Fonda/Music Box Theater in Hollywood, California. by Ruchira Haldar 8/20/07
The party was thrown by Artists Take Action to benefit local AIDS charitable organizations, with actress Jaime Pressly playing host for the evening. There were a silent auction in the theater lobby, a VIP lounge, deejays on the rooftop and atmospheric performances. Not to mention some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Jennifer Coolidge, Linda Cardellini, James Wilder, Jerry O'Connell and Michael Urie.
Also arriving on the red carpet were actresses America Ferrara, Parminder Nagra and Amber Stevens in some seriously alluring styles.

America Ferrara starred in a few films including "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" before hitting it big with television series "Ugly Betty" in the lead role. Playing the clumsy Betty Suarez won her no less than a Golden Globe and a SAG award, not to mention a huge fan following. She may as well be the Jennifer Hudson of sitcoms, curvy and not afraid to show it. But more than that, she's become a role model for young Latinas everywhere in one of the tube's best shows.
Dressed in this wide-strapped LBD with oversized belt, black sandals and clutch, America hits all the right notes in her unbettified form. We've seen this look before on Victoria Beckham, but la Ferrara makes it her own. And unlike VB, America doesn't seem like she needs a meal, a refreshing sight on the carpet. The soft neutral makeup and the smile, (apparently insured for a cool ten million), don't hurt either. Great health and great style, what a concept!

Parminder Nagra is a woman of many talents. After a bit part on British drama Casualty and learning how to kick a ball for Bend It Like Beckham, she moved to ER playing intern Neela Rasgotra. As if that wasn't enough she even knows how to score with photographers, as shown in this recent Splash photo.
Like most actresses this summer, Parminder shot for low-key glamour with hair worn down and unstructured style in a floor-length brown number with thin-strapped sandals. It's a lot of dress for such a little actress, but the slit on the side breaks the line perfectly and she knows it. Any other pair of shoes would have killed the outfit, so we're glad she stuck to these. As one of Hollywood's newer stars, Parminder's quietly taking over the screen. Here's to someone who will never be a Fashion 911! Well done, Mindi!

Actress Amber Stevens of "Greek" fame bursts a bubble in this strapless dress with polka dots and long, understyled locks. As celebrity Shadoe Stevens' daughter, she's not new to the business, but Amber makes her own waves on the rug. Having sung for the chorus of American Idol and playing Ashleigh for the popular ABC college drama, she's all about frothy looks and winning charm. With a combo like that, it's hard not to like her! Here's to a bright future for the young Stevens and many more red carpet arrivals.
